Laser cutting & engraving in Leith, Edinburgh
Cobblestone Creative runs a CO₂ and fibre laser suite from a 1,400 sqft workshop in Leith. We cut and engrave for designers, agencies, fabricators and brands across Edinburgh and Scotland — from one-off signage to repeat production runs.
Most laser shops are either trade-only bureaus that don't take small jobs, or hobby setups that can't handle metals. We sit between the two: industrial-grade kit, but happy to talk through a single nameplate or a batch of 500 wedding favours.
What our lasers do
CO₂ — organic and plastic materials
- Wood — hardwood, plywood, MDF, veneer
- Acrylic — clear, frosted, mirrored, fluorescent
- Leather — vegetable-tanned, suede, faux leather
- Paper, card, cork, felt, rubber stamps
Fibre — metals and engineered surfaces
- Stainless steel — deep-mark, annealed, polished
- Anodised aluminium — colour-removed, depth-cut
- Brass, copper, mild steel, titanium
- Glass and slate (with the right setup)
MOPA — colour on metal
A MOPA fibre laser pulses fast enough to oxidise stainless steel and titanium in controlled colours — blues, purples, golds, greens — without any ink or coating. Read more about colour marking. It's rare in Scotland and one of the things we get phoned about most.
