Fast local 3D printing in Edinburgh — 24–48hr turnaround
If you've ordered 3D prints from a national bureau, you'll know the rhythm: upload a file, wait for the quote, accept, wait two days for the print to run, wait two more days for the courier, then realise the part has a wall-thickness problem that could've been caught in a 30-second conversation. The total time is usually a week, sometimes more.
Cobblestone Creative is a 3D-print workshop in Leith. For Edinburgh and Lothian-area clients, the round-trip is 24–48 hours start to finish — and you can drop into the workshop, look at the part, and talk through the next revision with the person printing it.
What "fast local" actually means
- File received before 11am — most small parts print the same day and are ready next morning.
- File received later in the day — usually next-day-by-end-of-day for small parts.
- Multi-material or large prints — 2–3 working days.
- Same-day — possible on small parts if we have a free slot. Always message before assuming.
We don't claim same-day as standard, because most of the time it isn't honest. What we'll commit to is 24–48 hours on most FDM jobs, and a phone call if something will take longer.
Why local matters more than people think
- No postal lag — collect from the workshop, or we courier within Edinburgh same-day.
- Talk through revisions in person — saves the back-and-forth email of explaining what a "shell thickness" issue looks like.
- Catch design problems before printing — we'll flag obvious issues (too-thin walls, unsupported overhangs, wrong material choice) before the printer runs.
- Iteration speed — over the course of a design cycle, a 24-hour vs. 5-day turnaround compounds. You'll get more revisions in than going through a national bureau.

Walk-in policy
The workshop is on a working timetable, so we ask people to message before dropping by — we'll usually book you in for the same afternoon or the following morning. That gives us time to clear a bench and load up your file before you arrive.

No rush surcharge — turnaround is just our normal pace. Most small parts from £50 -.£100. We quote inside 24 hours of receiving a file.
